Cold and flu are two most common problems which almost everyone faces during the winter. These may occur due to bacterial, viral infections. There are many home made remedies to treat the cold and flu in winter.
Rest: rest is the basic solution to cure cold and flu. As when you work and walk in cold weather the chances of bacterial attack increases. It is helpful in making the body energized and full of immunity. So the rest during the cold and flu is very necessary. A cold is just like battle in which you have to protect yourself from all possible hazardous so rest is necessary.
- Blow the nose frequently: when you are suffering from the cold if you rub your nose frequently it will cause relieve from cold. But don’t blow the nose too hardly; just blow it gently as it is curable. It is also preferable to blow out the mucus membrane of the nose from one nostril at one time and second at another time. Wash your hands after blowing your nose with a good detergent so that the infection may not proceed.
- Mustard Footbath: it is the most common and easiest homemade remedy used to cure the cold and flu. Mix one tablespoon of Mustard Footbath in one glass of water and drink it. You will feel the difference within a few days.
- Gargle often: it is also the most common homemade remedy which ladies apply at homes. And it is also the easiest of all remedies. It is time tested and proven treatment. Take one glass of warm water and mix one tablespoon salt in it and mix it well and then gurgle it thoroughly for three to four times in a day. This is very effective for curing the bad throat.
- Take a Warm Shower: during cold and flu take a shower with warm water as cold water will be more favorable for bacterial growth. Shower of warm water will also help in opening the nostrils and when nostrils will open relieve feel be seen.
Drink hot fluids: avoid all cold drinks during cold and flu and take coffee, tea and soups etc.
